(ORDO NEWS) — Mourners at a funeral in Peru were startled when a woman being buried suddenly began banging on the inside of the coffin in a frantic attempt to show she was still alive.
The shocking scene reportedly took place late last month in the city of Chiclayo after Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca was involved in a horrific car accident that claimed the life of her brother-in-law and her three children were critically injured.
At the time of the accident, doctors believed that she also died as a result of the tragic event, and the next day her family proceeded with the funeral of Kallaki, which will not soon be forgotten by all those present.
As her family and large crowd of friends paid their respects to their departed loved one, they were stunned to hear a knock coming from the coffin.
Convinced that something was wrong, they demanded that the funeral director open the closed coffin, and then he discovered that the “dead” woman had opened her eyes and was in fact alive, albeit in a very weakened state. Kallaka was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support, but unfortunately she died some time later.
It is understandable that her family is outraged by such an oversight and is now demanding an answer from the hospital where she was declared dead.
They are especially concerned that, based on what happened at her funeral, it looks like Kallaka did indeed go into a coma after the car accident, and that the doctors could have saved her if they had figured it out before they mistakenly thought she was passed away.
In this regard, they stated that they would even exhume her body if this would clarify the exact cause and circumstances of her mysterious death.
