Coronavirus: half the world asks for help and money
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — By April 2, according to the World Health Organization, there were 827,000 people infected with coronavirus in the world. 40 777 people died. According to experts, in the coming days the number of infected people will exceed one million people.
Factories and factories around the world are shutting down; the services sector, tourism, and air transport are in crisis. With the tightening of quarantine measures, millions of people lose their sources of income.
At least tens of millions of people around the world can be below the poverty line. The difficult financial situation may force a number of countries to abandon part of quarantine measures ahead of schedule.
More than 80 countries have requested the International Monetary Fund to provide financial assistance in the fight against coronavirus.
