Coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 450 thousand

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus in the world exceeded 450 thousand, more than 18 thousand people died, according to the World Health Organization.

According to her latest data, the total number of cases reached 466,759 people, the majority of cases in Europe – over 220 thousand. It also reports 21,148 deaths worldwide, of which nearly 12,000 are in the European region.

The smallest number of infections and deaths from COVID-19 are in Africa: 1,664 infections and 29 deaths, according to a WHO communiqué.

Over the past 24 hours, the first cases of infection have been reported by Laos and Libya.
