Construction of the first Dream Chaser spacecraft for cargo missions to the ISS nears completion

(ORDO NEWS) — Private space company Sierra Space said it has made significant progress in building its first Dream Chaser spacecraft. Sierra Space showed pictures of the Dream Chaser on their Twitter.

At present, the design of the ship is largely completed, but work remains to be done on the installation of a thermal protection system and other components.

According to Sierra Space’s plans, the Dream Chaser’s first cargo flight to the ISS should take place next year. And then the company will begin work on a manned version of the Dream Chaser, which could launch to the ISS as early as 2026.
