Colossal tsunami 20 meters high flooded “British Atlantis”
(ORDO NEWS) — Archaeologists have managed to restore the picture of the sinking of the “British Atlantis ” when the 20-meter tsunami waves hit the island, flooding 7,000 square kilometers. The disaster could have happened in 6200 BC.
During this era, the population of Britain was formed by hunting communities of 50,000 people. Most of them lived in coastal areas where they extracted marine resources. Therefore, they were at risk when the tsunami wave rose. According to scientists, up to 12,000 people could die in an instant.
The catastrophic tsunami was triggered by a large earthquake when fragments of continental rock fell into the water. The rising wave reached East Anglia and other lands that are now underwater in the southern North Sea. Because of this, the area was named “British Atlantis”.
