China tests ‘response’ to Elon Musk’s Starship

(ORDO NEWS) — A Chinese startup has tested its reusable rocket, which in appearance and functionality strongly resembles SpaceX‘s Starship rocket, owned by the well-known Elon Musk.

The Chinese company Space Epoch conducted a series of fuel tank tests in combination with the Longyun-70 methane-liquid-oxygen engine developed by Jiuzhou Yunjian. The tests took place at the Jiuzhou Yunjian test site.

The test is part of Space Epoch’s previously unveiled plans to develop a 64-meter launch vehicle capable of lifting 6.5 tons. The launch vehicle can be reused up to 20 times, at least according to the manufacturer.

The company’s press releases say that it intends to become the leader of China‘s interplanetary transportation system and contribute to the development of the country’s national space infrastructure, as well as to increase launch capacity.
