US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — China sent humanitarian aid to Russia with a total weight of 26 tons, consisting of infrared thermometers, masks, respirators, protective suits and other protective equipment, RIA was told in the press service of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The agency organized the delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid on behalf of the Russian government, in accordance with the agreements of the leaders of the two countries. Transportation was carried out by the Russian Aerospace Forces.
“The cargo with a total weight of 26 tons includes medical masks, respirators, protective suits, disposable gloves, shoe covers and infrared thermometers. The received medical devices and personal protective equipment will be sent for further distribution to the FGBU National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov “Ministry of Health of Russia”, – said the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Earlier, Russia also provided humanitarian assistance to China in accordance with the instructions of the president and government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reminded. So, on February 9, humanitarian aid with a total weight of more than 23 tons was sent to the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The cargo included medical preparations and personal protective equipment for residents of China.
“Speaking at an emergency G20 summit on countering the spread of coronavirus, the President of Russia emphasized that we cannot afford to act on a one-for-one basis. And indeed, Russia is helping countries currently most affected by the spread coronavirus,” quotes the press service of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
