Characteristics of the Chinese hypersonic missile YJ-21 became known
(ORDO NEWS) — According to the Asia Times portal, China has revealed the technical characteristics of its new YJ-21 hypersonic anti-ship missile.
The People‘s Liberation Army of China (PLA) posted a message on its official Weibo account stating that the YJ-21 missile can move at speeds up to M=10, or 3,400 meters per second.
The statement also claims that no known shipborne defense system can intercept this missile at this speed, and that even without an explosion, its enormous kinetic energy will have a powerful destructive effect on the target.
According to experts, it is difficult to imagine what will happen to the target if the missile still carries a warhead (even if it is conventional, not nuclear).
