US, NEW YORK (ORDO NEWS) — The Israeli Air Force attacked targets of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip in response to the launching of balloons with incendiary devices from the enclave and clashes at the border, Israel Army spokesman Avihai Edri said.
“Military aircraft struck at night the Hamas military complex, which is used for the preparation and production of weapons, as well as the Hamas entrance to the Jabaliya tunnel in response to violent riots (on the Gaza-Israel border – ed.) And the launch of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip towards Israel,” Edri wrote on Twitter.
On Saturday, Palestinians moved to the borders of the Gaza Strip with Israel to take part in actions against the ongoing blockade of the Palestinian enclave and the delay in rebuilding the destruction caused by the Israeli army’s “Wall Sentinel” operation in May this year. More than ten Palestinians were injured as a result of clashes with Israeli soldiers, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
In late July, Palestinians resumed launching balloons with incendiary devices from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli border towns. Earlier, the Israeli leadership stated that it would not tolerate “fire terror” from Gaza and would react to the balloons being launched like rockets.
