(ORDO NEWS) — Boeing plans to launch an uncrewed Starliner capsule from Cape Canaveral in May, the company announced Thursday.
The flight of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft will be part of Boeing’s second uncrewed Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2). The mission is scheduled to launch from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral on May 19 at 23:54 GMT.
This comes after the company canceled two previous attempts in August and October last year due to ongoing investigations into technical issues.
Boeing said the latest attempt has been delayed as the space industry continues to investigate what caused moisture to leak into the capsule’s service module during a scheduled launch in August 2021.
NASA and Boeing will hold a joint press briefing on Tuesday, May 3 at 4:00 pm to discuss the upcoming mission and provide an update on spacecraft readiness.
