The analysis of statistical data was carried out by specialists from the University of Chicago. As part of the scientific work, deaths of 25 million people over the age of 14 years from 1998 to 2011 were considered.
Of these, 73,266 died on their own birthday. Scientists associate the risk of death on a holiday with two main factors. If a person has depression, it is on his birthday that loneliness is sharply felt, which can push him to suicide.
