(ORDO NEWS) — A study published in the journal Nutrients found that blue honeysuckle helps you to endure running loads longer.
Scientists from the University of Northumbria in the UK found that blue honeysuckle can increase the endurance and speed of runners.
As part of their study, tests were conducted with the participation of 30 male amateur runners. For observation, they were divided into two groups, the first of which received berries as food, and the second – a placebo.
The results of the study showed that the runners in the honeysuckle group were slower to tire and also improved their performance in the five-kilometer speed test by 20 seconds. According to scientists, time indicators thus improved by about 2%.
The berry contains antioxidants that improve the performance of the body.
