(ORDO NEWS) — Chinese tech company Baidu has unveiled its sixth-generation fully autonomous electric vehicle, the Apollo RT6.
While Baidu is primarily known as China‘s Google, it has focused on electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies in the past few years. What is interesting about the new autonomous electric car?
Apollo RT6 is equipped with 38 sensors: 8 lidars, 6 millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 cameras, which will allow the AI of an electric vehicle to fully control the vehicle.
The software filling of the electric car is all its own – Apollo. The model corresponds to the fourth level of autonomy, and company representatives claim that this is comparable in terms of quality of control to a driver with 20 years of experience.
The wonder electric car will cost around $37,000 and should begin mass production in the near future.
