(ORDO NEWS) — Australian resident Peter Charlton won a fairly large sum of money in the Tatts Lotto some time ago. The prize was 500 thousand pounds sterling. The man decided that he would not spend this money on himself. He began to financially help friends and family, as well as complete strangers who find themselves in difficult situations as a result of the pandemic.
Reported by The Scottish Sun.
To honor the memory of his late Uncle Charlie, who died of an incurable disease, Peter purchased three lottery tickets. After he discovered that one of the tickets was winning, the man immediately realized that he would not keep this money for himself.
After the Australian received the win, he first started sending messages completely anonymously to those people who followed him on Facebook. He offered to help them financially and send the required amount to a bank account. Many people immediately thought that this was some kind of another type of fraud.
At the same time, many people agreed to his proposals, but this was not the end of Peter’s activities. He went to the city and started paying for all kinds of purchases to complete strangers. Some of the money was donated to people with disabilities and nursing homes. Peter, after giving away his winnings, said that he did so, because he loves to help people.
