(ORDO NEWS) — Blizzard and winter weather alerts operate from Iowa to the Great Lakes. “If you don’t need to travel, please stay where you are,” warns the NWS.
A strong cold front moving across the central US today will bring areas of freezing rain, snow and high winds to the Midwest across the Great Lakes, according to the National Weather Service. Snowstorms expected in north-central Iowa.
After this front, a large Arctic outbreak will penetrate the central and eastern United States with temperatures 10-30 degrees below normal from the northern plains to the south.
