(ORDO NEWS) — An international team of researchers has been studying strange, oversized jugs in Laos for a long time. It was found that their age is three thousand years.
For decades, experts believed that the jugs were an element of the burial ceremony, but it turned out that the age of the jugs is older than the local graves.
Each jug is three meters high. The items were used to store food, water and alcohol. Unfortunately, it is impossible to study the megaliths in more detail, as the territory still contains millions of unexploded bombs dropped by the US Air Force in the 1960s. Only 10% of the jugs were researched.
To this day, it remains a mystery where the jugs came from. Perhaps, after a while, it will be possible to compare the age of the graves and megaliths.
In the Parthian burial culture, the body was placed in several jugs, said the head of the project Shokukh Khosravi. The Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism continues to pursue the issue of the appointment of huge jugs.
