(ORDO NEWS) — An interesting scientific discovery has been made in Egypt using a CT scanner. Scientists have discovered, having enlightened the mummy of the golden boy, “49 amulets-amulets.
They are made of various precious materials, including gold, various gems. According to Cairo University professor Sahar Salim, these charms “were supposed to protect their owner and give strength to his body in the afterlife.”
According to the scientist, the “golden boy”, whose mummy was discovered in 1916 in one of the ancient Egyptian cemeteries, was one of the representatives of the nobility of the Ptolemaic era.
This is evidenced by the rich decoration of the coffin and the decorations on the mummy itself.
In the near future, the discovered artifacts will be exhibited in the central pavilion of the Cairo Egyptian Museum, along with the mummy of the Golden Boy.
Earlier it was reported about the discovery in 2019 of a large grave from the Hellenistic period in the Tuna el-Gabal region in the Egyptian province of El Minya. In total, 40 mummies were found, ten of which were children.
