Apple introduced the second generation iPhone SE
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The iPhone SE, released in 2016, has a direct heir. The new 4.7-inch screen became the first smartphone of the company, which was presented not at an offline event, but online.
Externally, the gadget looks almost the same as the iPhone 8 three years ago. However, the filling of the new model is more advanced. So, the smartphone received the A13 Bionic processor: the devices of the iPhone 11 line are equipped with the same. This chip is almost two and a half times more productive than the A9 processor, which was installed on the first version of the iPhone SE.
The new generation SE has only one rear camera, but it has already been called the best single-camera system of all that the company’s phones have ever equipped. Its resolution is 12 megapixels, and it supports all the functions that flagship lenses have, such as portrait shooting and video in 4K resolution. By the way, portrait mode will be available for the front camera.
Like the iPhone 8, the novelty received a Home button with a Touch ID sensor for fingerprint reading, as well as a glass back cover. The gadget will not have a Face ID. The case of the new SE is aluminum, protected from moisture and dust according to the IP67 standard (can be under water at a meter depth of up to half an hour).
Also, from the iPhone 8 of the new model, the Retina HD display went. It supports TrueTone, which adjusts the color temperature of the screen, adjusting the image to environmental conditions. In addition, the display is equipped with a Haptic Touch function (“Tactile Touch”), providing tactile feedback through the vibration motor. The display resolution is 1334 by 750 pixels.
Representatives of Apple claim that the new iPhone SE inherited from the first generation model not only a letter designation, but also “ideological principles”, combining compactness, affordability and high performance. The cost of a smartphone in Russia will vary from 39,900 rubles (for a version with 64 GB of memory) to 53,900 rubles (version with 512 GB of memory).
The gadget is available in three colors: white, red and black (while the front panel in all three versions will be black). In the US, the new iPhone can be ordered as early as April 17th. Pre-orders in Russia will start on April 23, and the phone will be on sale the next day, the 24th.
Earlier, Bloomberg news agency revealed some details of the flagship iPhone, which should be presented in the fall, and Digitimes reported that Apple is developing a budget version of the AirPods wireless headphones.
