Anyone can help scientists find new black holes

(ORDO NEWS) — Black holes have very powerful gravity that bends the light coming from the stars behind them, making that light brighter for a short time.

Astronomers invite everyone to look for these peaks in the brightness of stars in these graphs.

A new project called Black Hole Hunters invites everyone to look for black holes for the benefit of science.

To participate in the project, you need to have a computer connected to the Internet and free time.

All participants will be provided with a short guide explaining what to look for in graphs collected over 10 years of measurements during the SuperWASP Exoplanet Discovery Project.
