(ORDO NEWS) — Meteorologists say that there has never been so much snow – the thickness of the snow cover reaches more than 4 meters.
The Andes get, perhaps the most record snowfall only when the ski centers are closed due to Covid-19, which will upset many lovers of relaxation in the mountains.
Some ski areas, such as Corralco in Chile, have already recorded thicknesses of up to 3.8 meters, an enviable amount at the start of the snow season.
Snowfall also left 1.5 meters of snow in Mendoza (Las Leñas, Argentina). Experts say that so much snow never fell in just 10 days.
“It’s abnormal that there hasn’t been such snow for many years, so now it seems strange to us,” the Climatology Department of the National Meteorological Service of Argentina confirmed.
