(ORDO NEWS) — The ancient Egyptians believed that the creation of the world and the universe began from the darkness of swirling chaos.
In this darkness there was nothing and no one except black water (Nun) and Heck (the god of magic), who was waiting for the right moment. By the will of Heck, Benben Hill appeared from the black waters, which became a haven for the god Atum (in some versions for the god Ptah, who was known as the “sculptor”).
Atum (Ptah) was depressed by his loneliness and, using magic, sacrificed his own shadow to turn her into two children – Shu (god of air) and Tefnut (goddess of moisture). Shu gave the world the basis of life, and Tefnut began to spread order, gradually destroying the initial chaos.
Leaving their father on Benben, Shu and Tefnut went into darkness to continue creating the world. Thousands of years later, Atum (Ptah) began to worry that his children were gone for a long time and, having removed his own eye, bewitched him and sent him in search of offspring.
Shu and Tefnut returned to their father, bringing with them his eye, which later became known as the All-Seeing Eye. Atum (Ptah), having met children, burst into tears of joy and his tears, falling to the ground of Benben, gave birth to the first men and women.
People had nowhere to live, the world was still dark and cold
Then Shu and Tefnut gave birth to Geb (god of the earth) and Nut (goddess of the sky). Geb and Nut were too carried away with each other and did not think any more about the creation of the world.
Grandfather Atum (Ptah) separated them forever, placing Nut up and Gebe down. They were only allowed to see each other, but no longer touch.
However, Nut by that time was already pregnant and gave birth to Osiris (god of rebirth, king of the underworld), Isis (goddess of motherhood), Seta (god of rage, sandstorms, destruction, chaos, war and death), Neftedu (goddess of birth and death) and Horus (god of the sky and the sun).
All these main gods laid the foundation of the universe, giving people everything they need to start a full life.
