(ORDO NEWS) — An old Facel Vega HK 500 was discovered in a garage in southwest Wales, which turned out to be a rare model with only 485 built.

Facel Vega was a French car company that made luxury cars in the 1950s and 60s. This particular model was released in 1959 and sold for £5,000 which was a very large sum at the time.

The rare Facel Vega HK 500 can currently sell for over £200,000 at auction. After the car was found in the garage, it was sent for restoration to be restored to working condition.

The rare Facel Vega HK 500 has a right-hand drive configuration. This model is a rarity in the UK, where only 96 cars were produced with this configuration.

Left-hand drive versions of the HK 500 are more common and cost from 50 to 60 thousand pounds (about 5-6 million rubles), while right-hand drive copies are priced much higher.

Some of the rarer Facel Vega models, such as the Facel II Coupe, have sold for £300,000.

The car, found in Wales, has the Brunswick Blue signature color and its original gray leather upholstery has been preserved in its original condition.
