(ORDO NEWS) — An American Airlines passenger plane en route from Cincinnati to Phoenix met with a UFO over northeastern New Mexico on Sunday afternoon.
The pilot of Flight 2292 got in touch at about 13:00 local time and reported that an unidentified object flew directly over them. American Airlines confirmed to Fox News that the transfer was made from Flight 2292.
“Do you have any aerial objects here? We just had something flying right over us,” the pilot said in a radio broadcast.
“I’m embarrassed to talk about it, but it looked like a long cylindrical object moving very fast. It flew right over us.”
American Airlines confirmed the authenticity of the radio broadcast after the recording of the conversation appeared online, but did not provide any further comment on a possible encounter with aliens.
“After discussion with the crew and further information, we can confirm that this broadcast was made from American Airlines Flight 2292 on February 21, 2021,” an American Airlines spokesman said in a statement to Fox News.
“If you have any further questions, we recommend that you contact the FBI.”
The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.
Flight 2292 was at an altitude of about 37,000 feet at the time of observation, and downtown Albuquerque did not respond to local air traffic, Douglas said. The flight has landed in Phoenix, Arizona.
New Mexico is home to the White Sands Missile Range, which is located in the southern part of the state and is described as “the largest fully instrumented open air range of the Department of Defense.”
Scott Stearns, head of public affairs at White Sands Missile Range, said the test site had not tested anything on Sunday and also noted the distance between the missile range and northeastern New Mexico, which is about 400 miles.
“We have no idea what it could have been and whether something like this has been observed in the area before,” Stearns said.
