US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — American actor Brian Dennehy, known for his role as sheriff in the movie “Rambo: First Blood,” died at the age of 81, Variety reports.
The actor’s relatives said that he died on Thursday night from natural causes not related to coronavirus.
The actor is well-known to Russian viewers for the role of the cocky sheriff Tizla, who expelled from his city the Vietnam War veteran John Rambo (the role of Sylvester Stallone ), and then unsuccessfully hunted him.
Dennehy also starred in the films Gorky Park, Silverado, The Murder Illusion, and others. For his work on the stage, he received two prestigious Tony Awards.
