US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The number of cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in the African continent reached 7028, 284 people died and 561 were cured, Africa CDC reports on Twitter.
The African Union includes 55 countries, COVID-19 infection has been detected in 50 member countries of the organization. Most cases were detected in North Africa – more than 3 thousand people were infected there. The smallest number of infected were recorded in Central Africa – 535 cases.
In terms of the number of infections from individual countries, the Republic of South Africa “leads” – there are 1,462 cases, including five deaths. Algeria is followed by 847 cases of infection, including 83 deaths, Egypt (779 cases and 58 deaths) and Morocco – 676 infections and 44 deaths from COVID-19.
