(ORDO NEWS) — This story proves that even a seven-year-old child can become a hero. The father of two children, 7-year-old Chares and 4-year-old Abigail Stephen Poust, hoped to just relax with the children and swim. As a result of an absurd combination of circumstances, the boy had to swim for an hour to the shore to ask for help. The action took place in Jacksonville (Florida) on the St. John’s River.

Reported by CNN.

Steven Poust sailed on a boat with the children and decided to swim with them. The man anchored the boat. But suddenly the girl was caught by a strong current. If it were not for the life jacket on the child, she would have drowned. The man decided to get to his daughter by boat, and told his son to swim to the shore and call for help.

The boy swam for an hour to the shore, got out on land and came to the nearest house to call for help. The father managed to save the youngest daughter and they drifted in the boat until rescuers evacuated them.

Rescuers found the boat very quickly. Now the father and children are not in danger. This feat of a child really deserves admiration. Finding himself alone with the elements, he did not panic, but swam to the shore and helped save his father and sister.
