(ORDO NEWS) — The explosive eruption of the volcano continues at elevated levels. Over the past 2 days, there has been a series of stronger explosions as the vapor and ash emitted from the explosions reached higher than usual heights of 5,500 m.
The frequent glow of steam continues to be active and is visible from the crater at the summit at night. The glow suggests an ongoing rise of fresh magma, which may rise within the volcano’s channels.
The warning bulletin says that ballistic strikes from volcanic bombs can affect an area about 2 km from the main crater.
