(ORDO NEWS) — China’s Long March 5B launch vehicle weighing 22 tons plummets to Earth. Where and at what time it will fall is still impossible to establish. It is expected to enter the Earth’s atmosphere in the coming days.
Researchers claim that it will be possible to establish the time and location only a couple of hours before its fall.
Not much is known about the falling object: its weight and dimensions are 30 meters long and 5 meters wide. Now the speed with which the rocket falls to Earth is about 29 thousand km / h. It was launched into space on April 29. At some point, the object lost control.
It’s too early to make any predictions, the researchers say. Chinese experts believe that the rocket will fall into international waters.
Part of the debris will burn when it enters the atmosphere, as happens with meteorites. Debris can fly around the globe or sink into the ocean.
A similar situation has already happened. Then the Long March missile hit the villages of Côte d’Ivoire.
The representatives of China are confident that none of the inhabitants of the planet Earth will suffer, but they are ready to take responsibility in the event of a sad outcome of events.
