A girl who survived a lightning strike spoke of terrible pain
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — A resident of the American city of Bellingham, which is located in Washington, was incredibly lucky: 23-year-old Shelby Kloff managed to survive after lightning hit her.
The girl does not cease to thank fate for the gift of the opportunity to continue to live and see her children. And this despite the fact that every day the American suffers excruciating pain, plus, she began to have vision problems.
The incident occurred on July 1, when Shelby was at home. She reached for the lamp switch and suddenly saw a bright light. As it turned out later, it was a powerful lightning strike that somehow arose in the apartment. The discharge was so strong that the girl was thrown to the side.
The doctors who arrived at the scene gave Shelby muscle relaxants to relax her muscles. After arriving at the hospital, the girl had a seizure: all muscles contracted, the spasm immobilized her limbs. Lightning partially erased the girl’s memory, so much of what she told about is the retelling of the story by eyewitnesses.
Clof was already discharged from the hospital. She is slowly recovering from what happened: in this she is helped by children and mother-in-law. It is still not clear how lightning was able to penetrate the room.
According to statistics, 24 thousand people die from lightning annually, and 240 thousand get serious injuries. Mortality is approximately 10%. There are many stories of survivors on the Web who tell their experiences and feelings in detail.
