4.6 billion years old meteorite discovered in the middle of the field

(ORDO NEWS) — A meteorite was discovered in one of the fields in Great Britain, which can tell a lot about how the formation of the solar system took place. It may also contain information regarding the origin and development of life.

Sean Fowler noted that the meteorite has a very fragile internal structure. It has many cracks and a high porosity index. He added that this unique pebble will allow scientists to learn more about the past, because it is 4.6 billion years old. The solar system was formed about the same time ago.

The meteorite originated from exactly the same gas and cloud and dust from which the Sun was formed, as well as the planets in our system.

Over millions of years, the planets have changed significantly. The meteorite, which was discovered on the territory of Gloucestershire, remained intact and for a long time was in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars.

Its design indicates that the space object survived the minimum number of collisions and did not transform under their influence.

The meteorite found in Great Britain belongs to a very rare species – carbonaceous chondrites, which are extremely rare and have not yet been sufficiently studied by specialists.
