(ORDO NEWS) — A teacher who loves Lego very much has created an incredible replica of the Titanic. He used 25 thousand bricks for this and thus recreated the liner down to the smallest detail. Niklaus Meyer even built an iceberg that caused the ship to wreck.
Reported by the Daily Mail.
The Titanic was built in the city of Lucerne, Switzerland, and the process required almost 3 thousand Swiss francs. It took the teacher 8 weeks to reproduce all the lifeboats, windows and other details of the liner at a scale of 1: 145.
It is worth recalling that the sinking of the Titanic occurred as a result of a collision with a huge iceberg in 1912 during its very maiden voyage. The liner was heading to New York from Southampton. When the ship was launched, it was considered the largest structure in the whole world. On board were the richest people and a lot of people from Ireland, Great Britain and other countries who wanted to start a new life in the United States.
After meeting with a huge iceberg, in just three hours, the seemingly unsinkable liner sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The disaster killed more than 1,500 people.
Mayer started working on this project thanks to his nephew Henry, who just recently turned 7 years old. The teacher approached the process very responsibly and, in order not to miss a single detail, he used a special computer-aided design system.
