(ORDO NEWS) — The oldest man on earth was born on August 8, 1908. To a surprise for himself, he got into the Guinness Book of Records, because today he has already turned 112 years old. Emilio Flores Marquez is a resident of Puerto Rico and he could not even imagine that he would become famous all over the world. At the same time, the long-liver feels great and plans to live for more than one year.
It is reported by nbcnews.com.
Flores Márquez had 10 more sisters and brothers. He was the oldest and therefore helped his parents a lot from childhood. It was not only numerous household chores and work on the farm, but also caring for the youngest children in the family. Flores Márquez has been married to Andrea Perez for 75 years. Together they gave birth to and raised four children. His wife died back in 2010, and only two of the children survived. Today, the long-liver enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of whom he has ten.
Today, the man lives in Rio Piedras, where he was awarded a certificate that he is the oldest inhabitant on Earth. It is worth noting that Flores underwent a rather difficult operation 11 years ago. He was given a pacemaker. In recent years, his hearing has practically disappeared, but relatives say that the man shows very good health to everyone around him, as for such a respectable age.
Flores Márquez has repeatedly said that life will be long only if there is a huge amount of love in it and there is no place for resentment and other negative emotions.
